About me

Hi, I'm Amber, I am  new to living in Brethren but not so new to the area. I live here with my wonderful Husband Darrel, and three kids. We are starting a cute little Hobby Farm that is mostly Chickens at the moment as we navigate settling in. Of course we also have our other fun furry and scaley pets. Including, some floofy dogs ( 2 Old Time Scotch Collies and a Sheltie), cats, guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, leopard gecko and some fish.

Windy Floofs stands apart as a budget-friendly dog groomer right here in Brethren, Michigan. My passion isn't just for grooming; it's for the well-being of the dogs. I'm dedicated to serving our close-knit community, which is why I offer complimentary grooming services to dogs in desperate need. I am in it for the dogs not the money.

Follow the Hobby Farm on Facebook.  To see the crazy variety of pets we own and some care tips. I will post some of the grooms I do along with tips and tricks for different animals and in-between grooms.

Our Story

The Windy Floofs story began with an adorable senior Pomeranian rescued from a "ruff" situation, complete with bald spots and a lingering odor from  bad living conditions and a flea infestation. During the height of COVID-19 shutdowns, I immersed myself in grooming tutorials to care for him. This sparked a love for dog grooming. Sadly, our sweet Boomerang has since passed, but the passion to groom lit a fire. Blessed with a supportive husband, who handles the heavy lifting of setting up grooming and wash tables and eventually building the new facility next summer, Windy Floofs is my dream come true.

My Expertise

I specialize in caring for double-coated breeds and have experience with seniors, puppies, and reactive dogs. As the owner of two Old Time Scotch Collies and a Sheltie, I'm well-versed in their specific grooming needs. Additionally, I'm trained and can offer basic cuts, trims and shave downs for a variety of dogs understanding their different coat lengths and textures. My knowledge expands to the understanding of different skin issues and and coats and the many products to use on which and have gone to grooming trade shows to find high quality products  and tools that are safe and gentle. This year I plan to continue to expand my knowledge and certifications to offer a wider range of styles.

Important to know

As Windy Floofs gets off the ground, I want to emphasize the importance of patience during this period of learning and adjustment. Your understanding is greatly appreciated as I navigate the fun and challenges of business ownership. I am excited to be servicing the Brethren, Michigan and surrounding areas!
